AI receptionist · Adelaide

Adelaide tradies: a small city where everyone knows who didn’t answer.

Adelaide runs on reputation. One missed call gets talked about at the footy club. Receptly answers every call you can’t, knows the suburbs from Gawler to Seaford and the SA rules, and books it in.

The Adelaide problem

Old houses, hot weeks, and a market where word travels

Adelaide’s housing is older than the other capitals. Bluestone and sandstone in the inner suburbs, galvanised pipe under half of them, switchboards that haven’t been touched since the seventies. That means more emergency calls per house, and more of them after hours. Then a heatwave rolls in from the north and every evaporative in Salisbury and Elizabeth fails on the same afternoon.

And Adelaide is small enough that reputation is the whole game. The tradie who answered is the one who gets recommended at the school gate. On the tools or on the South Eastern Freeway, you’re not answering, and the caller’s gone to the next name their neighbour gave them.

BluestoneOlder housing than any other capital. More emergencies per house, more after-hours calls.
All partiesSA’s Surveillance Devices Act 2016 means everyone on a recorded call must know. The receptionist says so at the start of every call. You’re covered.
Next nameAdelaide callers have a name from a neighbour and a name from Google. If you don’t answer, the other one does.

Local knowledge

It knows Adelaide

It’s set up for Adelaide before it takes a call. Not a generic script with the city name dropped in: the suburbs, the 08 numbers, the way work is spread, and the things a caller from Adelaide will ask.

  • Where the job is It asks the suburb and works out the region: north (Salisbury, Elizabeth, Gawler, Munno Para), south (Marion, Noarlunga, Seaford, Aldinga), east and the foothills (Norwood, Burnside, Stirling, Mount Barker), west (Glenelg, Henley, Port Adelaide), inner (Prospect, Unley, Norwood). You tell it where you work.
  • Old houses and heat It asks how old the house is, whether it’s an evaporative, a split or ducted, and whether the switchboard’s been upgraded. Adelaide questions, because Adelaide houses need them.
  • Who to ring when it’s the network No water in the street is SA Water on 1300 729 283. Wires down or the whole block dark is SA Power Networks on 13 13 66. A gas smell is Australian Gas Networks on 1800 427 532. Storm damage is the SES on 132 500. It tells the caller who to ring first, and still takes their details for you.
  • Referrals Adelaide jobs come with a name attached. It asks who referred them and passes it on, so you know which customer to thank.

South Australia rules

The SA rules it respects

Licences

Builders, plumbers, gas fitters and electricians in SA are licensed by Consumer and Business Services. Callers ask for the number. The receptionist reads yours out when they do, never claims one you don’t hold, and never promises a certificate of compliance it can’t issue.

Recording calls

SA is an all-party-consent state under the Surveillance Devices Act 2016. Every call opens with a short announcement that it’s an automated receptionist and the call is recorded, so callers know before they say anything. Details in our call recording disclosure.

Quoting

It doesn’t quote. SA building work contract rules apply above certain values, and a receptionist guessing a price is how disputes start. It captures what you need to quote properly and tells the caller you’ll confirm.

Your trade

Set up for your trade, in Adelaide

How it works

One call. We do the rest.

  1. One call with usWe’re in Sydney; setup is a phone call wherever you are. We learn how you run: the jobs you take, the suburbs you cover, what’s urgent, what gets quoted.
  2. Your number stays the sameKeep the number on the van. Calls you don’t pick up in a few rings divert to the receptionist.
  3. Live within the weekWe listen to the first month of calls and tune it. Anything it can’t handle, it takes a message and texts you.
