Connect ServiceM8 in five minutes

You make a key in ServiceM8 and send it to us. The key lets Receptly create clients and jobs from your calls. No extra user, no password.

Before you start

What you need

  • A paid ServiceM8 plan. The free plan doesn’t include API keys.
  • Your ServiceM8 login, on a computer.
  • The secure link we text you after the setup call.

Steps

Make the key

What it costs you

No extra user. Jobs count like any other job.

ServiceM8 charges by jobs per month, not by user, and a key isn’t a user. So there’s nothing extra to pay for the connection itself.

Each job Receptly creates uses one job from your monthly allowance, the same as a job you type in yourself. That’s why it only creates a job when the call passes the rules you set. A tyre-kicker outside your rules gets a callback promise and a text to you, not a job.

Why we do it this way

What we won’t ask you for

  • Your password. Not for any of your accounts, not ever. If someone says they’re from Receptly and asks for one, it isn’t us.
  • A login of our own inside your software. Most job software charges per user, so that would put your bill up, and some of them ban shared logins outright.

Switching it off

You can cut us off yourself, any time

In ServiceM8, go to Settings, API Keys, and delete the Receptly key. The connection stops that second. You don’t have to ring us first.

Everything it did shows in each job’s diary under the key’s name, so you can always see what it touched.

Does it change my existing jobs?

No. It creates new clients and jobs. It doesn’t edit, invoice or delete anything.
