Hear it answer your phone

We’ll ring you, and answer as your receptionist.

Six fields. Your phone rings in the next few minutes — between 8am and 8pm, the only hours a call out to a mobile is allowed. On the other end is Receptly, answering as if it works for your business — your name, your trade, your suburb, your kind of jobs. You be the customer.

Make it sharper optional, 30 seconds

We only ring the number you type in, once, because you asked us to. The recording goes to you and nowhere else. Privacy · Call recording.

Things worth trying

Do not be gentle with it. The point is to find out where it breaks before a customer does.

  • Ring in with a real jobDescribe something that actually happened last week. See whether it asks what you would have asked.
  • Give it an emergencySay there is a gas smell, or water through the ceiling, or a fallen powerline — or whatever counts as an emergency in your trade. It should stop taking your details and deal with that first.
  • Ask what it costsIt will not quote you. That is deliberate.
  • Ask if it is a real personIt will tell you the truth straight away.
  • Talk over itInterrupt it mid-sentence. See if it stops.

Or ring it yourself

The number below answers day and night as a Parramatta plumbing business. Tell it about a job and it books you into the diary. Ask for the plumber and it puts you through to him.

What it is doing, honestly

It is a script built from your six answers plus a knowledge pack for your trade. The safety instructions in it are real — the ones a good receptionist gives before anything else. It does not quote, does not diagnose, and does not promise a time.

What it cannot do on the call to your mobile: see your calendar, look up a past job, or know anything about your business you did not just type in. The 1300 line above shows the booking. The live version connects to your job software and does all three.
