About · Receptly
Built because the phone kept ringing out.
A tradie is under a house, up a ladder or driving between jobs for most of the working day. The phone rings anyway. Receptly exists because the call that gets missed is almost always the one that was worth money.

01
The origin.
Most trade businesses do not have a marketing problem. They have a phone problem.
Nobody rings a plumber for fun. Every unanswered call was a job, and it went to whoever picked up instead.
Receptly was born inside Agentive Group, an Australian AI consultancy that builds automation systems for mid-sized businesses. Professional services, healthcare, finance, operations. Different industries, different problems, and then we started taking on trade businesses.
Every one of them had the same one. Not marketing. Not quoting software. Not lead generation. The phone. It rang while they were under a house, up a ladder, on a roof, in the ute on the M5. It rang at 7pm when the hot water service went. It rang on Sunday. And when it rang out, the caller went to the next name on the search result, because someone with water coming through a ceiling does not leave a voicemail and wait.
We looked at what was on the market. Most of it did one of two things: took a message and emailed it to you, which is voicemail with extra steps, or handed you a platform and a blank prompt box and called it AI. Someone doing ten-hour days is never going to configure that, and if they do they’ll never touch it again.
So we built the thing we’d want if we ran a trade business. Someone answers every call, knows the difference between a burst pipe and a dripping tap, asks the questions that actually matter, and puts the job in the diary before the caller hangs up. Then we set it up for each business ourselves, and we listen to the first month of calls and fix what it gets wrong.
Not software you buy. A receptionist we run for you.
02
Three things we won’t compromise on.
It books, or it says it can’t.
A receptionist that takes a message is half a receptionist. Receptly gets the address, works out whether it’s a today job or a Thursday job, and writes it into the software you already run. When it hits something it can’t handle it stops, says so, and texts you the details. It never guesses an address and never invents an answer.
Your number stays yours.
Keep the number on the van, on the ute, on ten years of business cards. Calls you don’t pick up in a few rings divert to us. Nobody has to be told anything, nobody has to update anything, and if you leave you take the number with you because it was never ours.
No surprise bills.
Every plan has included minutes and a published overage rate. If you go over two months running we tell you and move you up a plan. You will never find out you had a big month from an invoice. That’s a promise on the pricing page, not a footnote in the terms.
03
The company.
The boring-but-important bit.
Receptly is a product of Agentive Group Co Pty Ltd (ACN 695 269 222, ABN 54 695 269 222), an Australian proprietary limited company headquartered in Sydney. Agentive Group builds AI automation and workforce capability systems for businesses across Australia and New Zealand. Receptly is what happened when we pointed that at the one problem every trade business already knew it had. Our other product, ScribeKast, does the same thing for content operations.
Calls are recorded and transcribed so the receptionist can do its job and so you have a record of what was agreed. We tell callers at the start of the call, we publish what we keep and for how long, and a caller can ask us to delete their recording. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Anything to ask us? contact@receptlyai.com.au for general enquiries, or privacy@receptlyai.com.au for anything about a call recording or your information. Both reach a person, not a ticket queue.
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information and we cannot sort it out between us, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. We would rather you rang us first.
Stop letting the phone ring out.
Ring the demo number. Give it a real job and see what it does with it.
